According to reports, Schenecker will not appear in court because Saturday had been hospitalized for medical conditions that apparently existed prior to the shootings. the nature of her health problems was not disclosed to the letter.

The Space Shuttle Challenger disaster occurred on Tuesday, January 28, 1986, when Space Shuttle Challenger broke apart 73 seconds into its flight, leading to the deaths of its seven crew members. The spacecraft disintegrated over the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of central Florida, United States, at 11:38 a.m. EST (16:38 UTC).

"Early Show" co-anchor Jeff Glor took a look back at the tragedy on the broadcast Friday morning.
On Jan. 28, 1986, June Scobee watched the shuttle's 25th liftoff first-hand. Her husband, Dick Scobee was the commander. Scobee was among the six astronauts -- and one teacher -- aboard the shuttle.
June recalled to CBS News, "We were so excited shouting, jubilant, that finally they were launching."
This particular mission was routine in many ways, but more significant in one. Christa McAuliffe, a social studies teacher from New Hampshire, was chosen to become the first teacher in space. Through lessons, she'd bring the nation's students along with her.
On the 25th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy, we should all take a moment to remember the seven people who lost their lives. My thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones today.

Obama eyes unfolding events in Egypt

President Barack Obama may have called for Egypt to avoid violence and to allow freedom of speech and assembly ahead of protests scheduled against President Hosni Mubarak today, but early signs are the regime is using most means at its disposal to crush a swelling and stunning wave of dissent in the Arab world's largest country.
President Barack Obama has requested "multiple briefings" on the unfolding crisis in Egypt, where thousands of demonstrators were clashing with security forces, White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said Friday.
Obama has not called Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak -- the target of the protesters' anger -- "but there is daily contact between the U.S. and Egyptian governments through various channels, including the embassies and other organizations in which Obama's messages and concerns are relayed," Vietor said.
Obama has urged the government and demonstrators to refrain from violence as protests continued.
"It is very important that people have mechanisms in order to express legitimate grievances," he said this week.
Vice President Joe Biden told PBS NewsHour on Thursday that Mubarak should listen to protesters. He also said the embattled Egyptian president is no dictator.
Still, he said "violence isn't appropriate and people have a right to protest."
Obama received information on Egypt from National Security Adviser Tom Donilon on Friday and will get other updates later.
Servers of Egypt's main internet provider were down early Friday, according to multiple services that check whether servers used by specific sites are active.
Servers for the Egyptian government's sites and for the U.S. Embassy in Cairo also appeared to be down. But at least one internet service provider, Noor, was still working.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and are aware that communication services, including social media, are being blocked," U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Thursday. "We continue to urge Egyptian authorities to show restraint and allow peaceful protests to occur."
On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the U.S. administration was "monitoring quite closely the situation in Egypt and continue to do so, obviously, in Tunisia."
The protests in Egypt started after weeks of similar disturbances sparked a revolution in Tunisia and forced then-president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali to flee the country.
"This is an important time for the government to demonstrate its responsiveness to the people of Egypt in recognizing those universal rights," Gibbs said.

NASA Marks 25th Anniversary of the Challenger Disaster.
Challenger NASA is remembering three major tragedies in its history this week, starting with the 25th anniversary of the explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger on Friday.
"This year marks the 25th anniversary of the loss of the Challenger—a tragedy that caused us to completely rethink our systems and processes as we worked to make the shuttle safer," NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in an AFP report.
Along with deputy administrator Lori Garver, Bolden honored the lives of those lost in Apollo 1 and space shuttles Challenger and Columbia by laying a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia Thursday morning.
"The nation will never forget Jan. 28, 1986, nor its indelible images," Bolden added.
Challenger's entire crew was killed when the shuttle exploded just 73 seconds after its launch, 46,000 feet in the air. The explosion was broadcast on live television.
challenger explosion In 2003, a faulty heat shield caused Columbia to disintegrate as it re-entered the earth's atmosphere, killing seven astronauts. A fire aboard Apollo 1 proved fatal for the vessel's crew of three in 1967. This mission was the first of NASA's manned trips to the moon.
Since 1964, 24 people have been killed in a NASA mission, but NASA says it has learned since then.
"Safety is the number one priority at NASA and the shuttle launch schedule does not drive discussions or decisions when issues arise," a NASA spokesperson told PCMag. "That is reiterated often and is apparent in media events about the issues."
apollo 1 Perhaps the most telling example is the recent delays in the coming launch of Space Shuttle Discovery. The ship was originally set to take off on its final voyage on Nov. 1, but due to leaks, inclement weather, electrical issues, and equipment problems, the mission was delayed more than a half a dozen times. It's now scheduled to lift off Feb. 24.
"NASA has learned hard lessons from each of our tragedies, and they are lessons that we will continue to keep at the forefront of our work as we continuously strive for a culture of safety that will help us avoid our past mistakes and heed warnings while corrective measures are possible," Bolden said.
After Discovery, the shuttle Endeavor is supposed to launch in April 18, the AFP said. Additionally, if Congress hands over the necessary funds, NASA is hoping to send Space Shuttle Atlantis into orbit for an additional trip.
In October, President Obama signed the 2010 NASA Authorization Act, which added an additional flight to the space shuttle fleet before its retirement The administration is looking at a June launch for Atlantis, but it's lacking several hundred million dollars necessary to get the ship off the ground.

O’Malley touts Invest Maryland legislation
ANNAPOLIS (AP) — Gov. Martin O’Malley is highlighting his Invest Maryland proposal.
The governor is holding an event in Annapolis on Thursday he’s calling Invest Maryland Day.
The Invest Maryland initiative would create a public-private partnership to invest $100 million in innovative start-up companies in the state.
The program would offer tax credits to insurance companies at a discounted rate of exchange for investing in the initiative.
Baltimore bus service suspended in snowstorm
BALTIMORE (AP) — The Maryland Transit Administration says it will suspend local bus service because of the snowstorm.
MTA spokesman Terry Owens says service will be suspended at 11 p.m. Wednesday and resume on major arteries at 5 a.m. Thursday.
Owens says riders should check the MTA website at www.mta.maryland.gov or call 410-539-5000 before going out to wait for a bus.
Firefighters battle blaze, snow, wind
BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore fire officials say firefighters fought a two-alarm house fire in heavy snow and wind. One person was seriously hurt after jumping from a window.
Battalion Kevin Cartwright says the fire was reported Wednesday night and extended to the third floor of the three-story structure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
MTA curbs bus services; light rail delayed
The Maryland Transit Administration has suspended local bus service and expects it to resume at 5 a.m. Thursday. It has canceled all commuter bus services provided by contractors Thursday.
The agency said service on the light rail line is running 30 minutes late and is not stopping at the Woodberry station. It said the Metro has been running on schedule.

Open Door On Metro-North Train Doesn’t Faze Passengers, Worries MTA

Jeremy Grimes, a daily commuter from Connecticut shot this video, which shows passengers barely noticing a wide open door on a speeding Metro-North train. Even those a few inches from the open door (and the rushing ground below it) don’t seem worried.
The malfunctioning door was left open as the train sped toward Grand Central Station.
“The train started to move and everyone just kind of acknowledged it, eyeballed it for a second and then shrugged it off,” Grimes wrote in an email to the New York Times.
Metro-North officials were far more concerned.
“The footage in this video is very disturbing to us, and Metro-North is investigating,” Metro-North spokeswoman, Marjorie Anders told the New York Times.
Metro-North Railroad is planning a normal weekday schedule for Thursday morning, but asked riders to check their site at www.mta.info before leaving the house about cancelled trains, service disruptions, and other problems with their commute.
Busing will be in effect on the Waterbury branch line Wednesday after 9 p.m. and during the Thursday rush hour.
On Wednesday night, Metro-North Railroad was dealing with the impact of having many trains out of service, by either canceling or combining many runs after 9 p.m. on the New Haven line.
On Wednesday morning, service ran smoothly relative to some other snowy mornings this month, Metro-North spokeswoman Marjorie Anders said, with only 4 of 125 westbound trains late on Wednesday morning.
After 9 p.m. Wednesday on the Metro-North New Haven line a number of trains will be cancelled due to ongoing weather-related car repairs:
